Welcome to SessionBassistOnline.com! My name is Jesse Stern. I’m a Los Angeles session bassist with a deep passion for music, and I’ve been blessed to play with a lot of talented and successful artists.

I’m using this site to offer a way for you, the songwriter/composer, to get the bass tracks you need for your music at an affordable price. A lot of songwriters & composers use programmed bass as bass tracks, or have a guitarist record bass tracks. As you know, these lack the groove, pocket and tone of a professional session bassist who can really lay down serious bass tracks.  Using this service for your bass tracks can save you a ton of time and money in “fix-it-in-the-mix” costs — and can dramatically raise the quality of your project.

Just a few years ago, hiring a session bassist cost a lot of money in recording studio and engineer costs. Now, you don’t have to book studio time or even leave your house to get pro bass tracks!  I have a wide variety of instruments and a wide range of styles, and my online bass tracks can bring your music to the next level with the power of pocket. Music saved my life.

Music saved my life. My parents taught me guitar and piano at age 4. As a teenager, I was in trouble a lot. In desperate need of a creative outlet, I got my first bass at 13, and that’s when I chose music as my life’s work. The bass has kept me alive and mostly out of trouble ever since. As an adult, I have been blessed and very fortunate to record and/or perform with a lot of great artists, including some of my heroes:

Gear

I play electric and upright, four- and five-string basses, fretted and fretless. I also play keybass (keyboard bass). Although I gravitate toward the classic sounds of my vintage Fender Precision and Jazz basses, I also have a great variety of other basses, including Music Man, Roscoe, Rick Turner, and others.  Ultimately I choose the instrument that will deliver the strongest bass tracks for your song.

In the recording studio, I use state-of the art pre-amps, channel strips and AD converters by Apogee, Neumann, API and Aphex for your bass tracks.  I also use custom-built-to-spec cables to get the best possible sound and Analog-to-Digital conversion. I can deliver bass tracks in Logic or Pro Tools formats, and/or raw WAV or AIFF audio files.
